1. Vocabulary list on the desk -- take 1, please -- choose 5 words and write each one in a sentence -- OR find the sentence in the text that uses the word and write that sentence with page # and line #

Student example sentence on the board:  "A secondary source is biased, since it is not a fact but rather than an opinion."

[You could rewrite it as follows:  " It appears that this secondary source is biased, since it presents opinions rather than facts."


Students work together to create puzzles using the words in the above list--graph paper for this exercise was given to the students.

Discussion of the article about wartime workers -- students handed in their answers to the questions on pages 42 and 44.

Homework:
1. study for vocab test on Friday
2. complete word puzzle assignment
3. read the article about Japan's gun policy -- be prepared to verbally state your opinion on this topic (wise, unwise, feasible here in the U.S., etc.) on Friday -- make a list of words (unknown or confusing to you) to discuss and to hand in
